Examples of the types of material we require:

We buy rare and unusual material in a broad range of categories (subject to demand) including the following.
Public timetables pre-1939; working timetables pre-1960; Bradshaw timetables of most dates.
Aireys and Railway Clearing House maps; other attractive maps pre-1939 (folded and cased, not rolled)
Classic technical works on the steam locomotive and other aspects of railway engineering and signalling.
Less common books on foreign railways in English and other languages including France, USA, India, China and most former "colonial" systems of Africa and Asia.
Foreign timetables pre-1970 from the less-visited countries, for example East Germany, Soviet Union/Russia, North Africa, Middle East, South America.
Periodicals: we require certain bound volumes of Railway Gazette, Locomotive Magazine and Railway Engineer to complete customers' sets
Most material on military railways worldwide including official publications, instruction books, railway guns, armoured trains, locomotives in military service, railway bombing targets, photographs loose or in albums.
Postcards (5½" x 3½" standard format) or larger prints up to 10" x 8" in manageable lots of up to around 3,000 items. Real photos of professional quality, no Box Brownie or Instamatic and no Edwardian colour cards. Good foreign also acceptable.

Please contact us if you have a collection to sell.

If you would like to send us a list attached to an e-mail please use a text (.txt) or rich text (.rtf) format only. Our software cannot open other formats, not even MS Word files.

A few categories we don't want:

Books At present we are no longer purchasing popular and mid-range books from publishers such as David & Charles, Ian Allan, Oxford Publishing Company (OPC), Bradford Barton, Silver Link, Countryside and George Allen & Unwin. Of those we have more than sufficient to meet demand.
Nor do we require annuals or yearbooks, children's books, mass market gift books, booklets, cheap paperback reprints ex-public library copies of any description, preservation guides and stocklists, nor books in shabby condition
Magazines For the time being we regret we do not wish buy bound or unbound runs of periodicals, with a few exceptions listed above
Other subjects We have ceased to buy books on canals, ships and aviation.

We do not deal in railwayana hardware, models, badges, tickets or videos.
